Tessa Thompson

Tessa Lynn Thompson, an actor and songwriter who hails from Los Angeles was born in 1983. She is the daughter great-granddaughter of the musician Marc Anthony Thompson, as well as the actor Bobby Ramos. She was raised as a child in Los Angeles before moving to Brooklyn, New York. Her mother comes from Mexican as well as British Isles heritage, while her father is an African-Panamanian. Thompson was involved in various productions during her time at Santa Monica High School. She enrolled in Santa Monica College after graduation and earned a cultural anthropology degree. The role she played was Juliet in the William Shakespeare play "Romeo and Juliet" during a performance held by the Boston Court Theatre in Pasadena, California. That same year, her performance earned recognition with the NAACP Theatre Nomination. Tessa began her television debut in 2005. Her role was in a CBS Series.
