Tessa Thompson

Tessa Lynn Thompson, an actor and songwriter who hails from Los Angeles was born in 1983. She is the daughter great-granddaughter of the musician Marc Anthony Thompson, as well as the actor Bobby Ramos. She was raised as a child in Los Angeles before moving to Brooklyn, New York. Her mother comes from Mexican as well as British Isles heritage, while her father is an African-Panamanian. Thompson was involved in various productions during her time at Santa Monica High School. She enrolled in Santa Monica College after graduation and earned a cultural anthropology degree. The role she played was Juliet in the William Shakespeare play "Romeo and Juliet" during a performance held by the Boston Court Theatre in Pasadena, California.
