The winner of the USA and World championships in hurdle events, Lolo Jones has reached her current position after plenty of effort and enormous amount of perseverance. Jones experienced a tough childhood as she was born to a single mother with a large family. Jones' mother moved constantly and even lived in the church basement. This nomadic life forced Jones to attend an entirely new school each year until the time she entered in high school. When she attended Theodore Roosevelt High School Jones lived apart from her mother to pursue her passion for athletics. Jones was a member of four distinct families, which helped keep her study focused. Jones was part of both the Iowa School Orchestra and the Gatorade Track and Field Award. Also, she was awarded this award in her school. As she began college, Jones proved to be one of the most skilled hurdlers. At the 2002 NCAA Track & Field Championship she was the winner of the hurdles 100 meters. In addition, she was a part of the team that finished second in the 100-meters relay. Jones took home both the indoor and outdoor hurdles events at the NCAA Championship in 2003. Jones started her career with the year 2005, after she finished her bachelor's degree. She began to train for a successful track career. In the following year, she took home the Torino Memorial event, and in the year 2206, she was crowned the Ostrava track event, as in addition to the Heusden track event.

Brandt was raised and born in Cape Town in South Africa. She immigrated from Cape Town to Auckland New Zealand with her family during her late teens.
